Answers about privacy-first LGBTQ+ dating and chat in India — Every Colour Belongs.

Getting started

What is Ohro?
Answer

Ohro is a privacy-first LGBTQ+ dating and chat app in India. Browse nearby profiles on Pulse, match, chat safely, and control your photos and visibility.

Who is Ohro for?
Answer

Ohro is built for gay, lesbian, bi, trans, and queer people across India who want inclusive dating, chat, and community — dates, friends, and love.

Is Ohro free to join?
Answer

Yes. Creating an account on Ohro is free. Browse Pulse, match, and chat with privacy-first controls.

What is Pulse on Ohro?
Answer

Pulse is Ohro's live nearby discovery feed. See queer people browsing near you, explore profiles, and connect on your terms.

How do I sign up for Ohro?
Answer

Tap Sign up on the home page, create an account with email or Google, and complete your profile. It is free to join — you can start browsing Pulse once your profile is set up.

Can I use Ohro on my phone and computer?
Answer

Yes. Ohro runs in your browser as a web app on mobile and desktop. Add it to your home screen on phones for an app-like experience — no separate store download required.

What is Ohro Plus?
Answer

Ohro Plus is an optional paid tier with extra features such as an ad-free experience and higher profile photo limits. Core dating, chat, and Pulse discovery remain free. See in-app details when Plus is available to you.

Privacy & safety

How do I control who sees my photos?
Answer

Ohro lets you manage profile photos and albums with visibility controls so you decide what to share and with whom. Review photo settings anytime in your profile.

How is Ohro privacy-first?
Answer

You control photos, albums, and discovery visibility. We design around consent and safety — not around extracting as much personal data as possible. Read the Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I stay safer when meeting someone?
Answer

Chat in-app first, meet in a public place, tell a trusted friend your plans, and never share financial details. See our safety tips on the blog and use block and report tools if something feels wrong.

How do I block or report someone?
Answer

Open their profile or chat, then use block or report from the menu. Blocking stops further contact. Reports help our team review behaviour that breaks our Terms of Service.

Can I delete my Ohro account?
Answer

Yes. You can request account deletion from your profile settings. Deletion removes your profile and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Community & inclusion

Can I use Ohro for friends as well as dating?
Answer

Yes. Ohro supports dates, friends, and love. Set your intentions clearly on your profile so people know whether you want dating, friendship, or both.

Is Ohro available across India?
Answer

Yes. Ohro is built for LGBTQ+ people across India — metros and smaller cities. Nearby discovery on Pulse works wherever you are, with privacy controls that travel with you.

Does Ohro support trans and non-binary people?
Answer

Yes. Ohro is designed for gay, lesbian, bi, trans, and queer people. Profiles emphasize self-expression and inclusive identity options rather than rigid boxes.

Can cross dressers and sissies use Ohro?
Answer

Yes. Cross dressers, people who use sissy as a self-description, and others exploring gender expression are welcome. Describe yourself in your own words, control photo visibility, and chat at your pace. See cross dressing and dating in India, closet privacy tips, and cross dresser profile tips.

What does T4T mean on Ohro?
Answer

T4T means trans-for-trans. If you turn on the T4T badge in your profile Matching settings, you show that you prefer matching with other transgender people. It is optional, does not change your gender identity, and you can turn it off anytime during onboarding or in Edit profile.

How does chat work on Ohro?
Answer

When you connect with someone on Pulse, you can message in-app before sharing personal contact details. Keep early conversations on Ohro until you feel comfortable — see our first message ideas for inspiration.

Profile badges

What do profile badges mean on Ohro?
Answer

Badges under a name signal different things: Community verified (peers who know the person), Ohro verified (staff), VIP (contributor who invited many real members), Ohro Plus (gold circle with a star — active Plus membership), and Official (the Ohro account in chat). They can stack and are not government ID checks.

What is Community verified vs Ohro verified?
Answer

Community verified comes from members marking that they know someone personally and meeting peer-vouch thresholds. Ohro verified is granted by Ohro staff. They use different icons and labels so you can tell them apart. Someone can have both.

What is the VIP badge?
Answer

VIP marks a growth contributor — typically someone with 1,000+ quality invitees who joined with their code and set up a real profile. Ohro can also grant or remove VIP. It is separate from Ohro Plus and does not replace verification badges.

Can I buy a verification or VIP badge?
Answer

No. Community and Ohro verification are not for sale. VIP is earned through quality invites or granted by Ohro. Ohro Plus is the optional paid membership and shows a separate gold circle with a star icon.
